You Gave Me Shelter
In this writing of "From Father's Desk," I would like to thank all of you who generously gave for the addition of a covered walkway from the back parking lot to the Church's side door. For months, I have been watching people struggle to enter the church during heavy rains, particularly those parishioners who have mobility issues. This led to a discussion on how we could alleviate these issues. I saw this as a pastoral issue and a need for a corporal work of mercy. In Matthew 25, we are given by our Lord the corporal (bodily) works of mercy. I feel the addition of this covered walkway fulfills "I was a stranger and you invited me in." We always want our parish to express radical hospitality to both the stranger and our most well-known parishioners. I again would like to express my deepest thanks as a pastor to all who gave for this project. It is a sign of the love you share for our Lord and each other and warms my heart as a pastor to see such love expressed.
From Father's Desk,
Fr. Casey R Dugas
Pastor of St. Peter and it's Mission St. Theresa
